Welcome to the UC Irvine Anteater Family!
When our son, Michael, chose to attend UCI my husband and I were a bit concerned that he would get lost in the masses of a large university. Nothing could have been further from what Michael experienced during his freshman year. His dorm really became home; the students coordinated dining times to eat together, the RA planned movies, beach days, theme park adventures, and many other bonding activities. All of Michael’s professors and teaching assistants have been very welcoming and supportive. They encourage the students to meet with them during office hours, and in many cases before or after class for informal coffee chats. Serving as a member of UCI’s Parent Leadership Council (PLC) during Michael’s freshman year, and now as Chair, has allowed my husband and I to meet wonderfully warm and friendly faculty, caring staff, and other parents that share our enthusiasm for UCI. Being a member of the PLC has increased my appreciation for this amazing university, and everything that it does for our students. My husband and I are thankful to be part of the Anteater family, and to have the opportunity to stay connected to our son’s education and to enhance the experience of all students through volunteering, networking and giving. I hope that all of you will consider joining us on the PLC as we help to make UCI an even better place for all of our students.
Zot, Zot, Zot!
