Anteaters say THXAZOT! at Guinness World Record Event

Anteaters took a moment before the recent Guinness World Record event to learn about the impact of philanthropy on campus and say THXAZOT to UCI donors. It didn’t take long for the Office of Donor Relations’ booth to become draped in a colorful display of heart felt gratitude with nearly 250 student thank you notes written and strung across the booth for all to read. Some notes were inspired by a student’s personal experience of donor generosity through scholarship support. Other students learned for the first time about the importance and impact of private philanthropy at UCI and how it helps to fund scholarships, fellowships, laboratories, buildings and leading edge research.

It was great to see so many students enthusiastically embrace the moment. Even Peter the Anteater said THXAZOT! We may have come up just short of breaking another Guinness Book World Record, but the Anteater spirit provided world record gratitude. Here are some student quotes from the day:

“Thank you for supporting UCI and making it possible for me to achieve my dreams!”

“Dear Donors, You are the absolute best. Continuing my studies has been a dream of mine and it is possible because of you!!!”

“Dearest Donors, Thanks for funding all the amazing things that make UCI!”

“Your kindness isn’t unnoticed. Thanks for everything!”
